Known as a popular cooking spice, Oregano oil acts as a powerful cleansing agent, and has a wide variety of powerful antioxidants. Oregano extends far beyond uses in the kitchen.
Oregano oil is one of the most potent and powerful essential oils and has been used for centuries in traditional practices. The primary chemical components of Oregano is carvacrol, a phenol that possesses antioxidant properties when ingested. Due to its high phenol content, caution should be taken when inhaling or diffusing Oregano essential oil; only one to two drops is needed.

Safety: Caution, Oregano is a hot oil. Skin sensitivity. Heavily dilute for topical use. Avoid using it internally for more than 10 days in a row. Avoid during pregnancy.
HISTORICAL USES:
Known as the ‘joy of the mountains’, Oregano was historically used by the Romans and Greeks to stimulate/increase menstrual flow, to encourage perspiration and added to an ointment or lotion to relieve body pain. It was also used to cure toothache, indigestion and suppress cough.
WELLNESS USES:
Oregano is used to complement dishes, but can also be used for wound healing, to treat infections and many other conditions. It has strong anti-fungal properties which help it to fight fungal infections, especially fungal infections experienced on the nails.
EMOTIONAL USES:
Oregano helps you to detach from things you can not let go off. It encourages you to pursue the finer things in life as long as they align with your core values. It will help you to look at things in a positive light.

BODY/WELLNESS
Bacterial and Viral Infection
Take 1-3 drops in a veggie capsule for bacterial or viral infections. Oregano is well known to help halt or inhibit the overgrowth of Candida (Read all about this in Wellness Made Simple)
Strep Throat and Tonsillitis

Fever

Measles
Dab a few drops onto spots several times daily; add several drops to bath and soak for at least 30 minutes as needed. Dilute with a carrier oil to help with skin sensitivity.
